Fantastic upcoming release news from Eureka / Masters of Cinema today :

There will be upgrades (from previously released MoC DVDs) to Dual Format BR/DVD editions of Kenji Mizoguchi’s UGETSU MONOGATARI / OYU-SAMA and SANSHO DAYU / GION BAYASHI, Dual Format BR/DVDs of Hitchcock’s LIFEBOAT (including as ‘extras’ AVENTURE MALGACHE and BON VOYAGE), Erle C. Kenton’s ISLAND OF LOST SOULS and Leo McCarey’s RUGGLES OF RED GAP both starring Charles Laughton, and from director Billy Wilder Blu-ray only editions of DOUBLE INDEMNITY and THE LOST WEEKEND!

There will be SteelBook editions of LIFEBOAT, ISLAND OF LOST SOULS, DOUBLE INDEMNITY, and THE LOST WEEKEND.

They have also announced that they have acquired all UK & Irish rights to Carl Theodor Dreyer’s LA PASSION DE JEANNE D’ARC, although they don’t expect to be releasing it until 2013!
